This already kind of ‘forsaken’ blog deserves another update. Although I’m not that really busy with work and life in general, it’s just that every time I start to write, I get confused and lose focus on what I should be posting here. Maybe I’m just thinking too much about something, don’t you think? Or maybe I should try the tea advertised in the radio and television that helps people ‘get in the zone’. Haha Forgive me for the title too! Eeeeeeeeee!

About three and a half months ago, I was still in Cagayan de Oro, partyin’! Night out almost every other night, hanging out with friends, cherishing the unemployed status I had. And when the opportunity to live in one of the ‘busiest’ cities in the Philippines came up to me, I was doubtful of whether I should take it or not. I kept asking myself, ‘Where should I take my chances?’ Be close to home and wait for a year to find a job, or be miles away and continue searching for that somewhere, where I belong. ^^

In almost a month of job search, I finally got myself a job in some IT solutions company. I always get to smile every time I think about how and where I saw the company I’m in right now. I was walking around Makati submitting resumes when an L300 cargo van came out of a driveway and almost hit me. The company name was printed at the door or the van and so I then searched for it in the internet and luckily it was based also in Makati. Anyway, the pay is quite low considering it’s in the Metro, but what can you expect when you’re a fresh grad? I’m not yet really after how much I earn but what matters for me now is the experience, exposure and fun at work. As long as I get to eat, no sleepless nights, enjoy the work and go on with my life, it’s fine. As long as it feeds my fantasies too! Hahaha Kiddin’..

First few weeks of my work was hardware related. Troubleshooting and repair of desktop computers, printers, monitors, UPS, etc. But I handled printers mostly though. I also experienced doing field services. After two and a half weeks, I was transferred to another area because when I was hired, I was just a reliever under outsourced services. That means, I get to replace whoever resigns in the outsourced services department.

I was really hesitant when the supervisor first informed me about the transfer because he said the work could be doing support (help desk kind of stuff) for the users. What I don’t like doing support is that it’s just the same thing as working in a call center. But when I came to my new office, I was told the work involves software packaging. I was confused back then, but kinda relieved. ^^ Now, what is software packaging? What comes into your mind when you first hear ’software packaging’? On my first day, I was puzzled about what the work really is. But reading through the training modules and documentations, I got an idea of how it is, a vague idea that is. Haha I’m enjoying the work, especially I get to spend most of the time in front of a computer.^^

Well, until next time. I guess I’ve written enough. ;) Hope I can keep up for the lack of posts. Hehe
